Quality Cable Source, Inc. was tasked with the manufacturing of military-grade OP camera cable assemblies for an electronic application. Manufacturing of the 18-pin mil to 8 pin PicoBlade to 6-pin Molex Micro-Fit cables clearly displayed the expertise of Quality Cable's electronics technicians. Coax stripped and thinned, basic assembly of the 4" OP camera cables began with soldering irons and heat guns. Quality Cable's high-speed Komax wire processor was used to strip and cut the wire followed by a crimping press. The press was used to attach the Molex 4 hole panel mount connector and a Molex 6-pin connector clip. Working from the customer's specifications and 2D CAD drawings, Quality Cable manufactured these cables to tight tolerances of ±.005" and angles of ±1°. All cables were subject to both crimp test and pull tests to confirm assembly integrity. We carefully packaged all of the cable assemblies to prevent damage in shipping and handling to this Illinois customer. Quality Cable Source manufactures 100 of these cables per year, with less than two weeks of lead time per order.
